PRESENTER, AT ITS SOLE EXPENSE, AGREES TO FURNISH THE FOLLOWING:
STAGE
- 1800-2000 square feet of stage space cleared, cleaned, ready to receive scenery and equipment at least 12 hours prior to concert (or by 8:00 am on the day of performance is a matinee). Minimum proscenium opening: 33’ wide x 15’ high. Minimum depth (tab line to back wall): 29 feet
- Draperies to be provided by presenter:
- 5 sets of black legs
- 5 black borders
- One white cyc: If you do not have one please inform the manager
- Light plot to be hung prior to Company’s arrival: colored, circuited and working order. Actual light plot to be sent 14 days prior to performance.
“If lights are not pro-hung, presenter must provide 6 electricians for the 4 hours prior to load-in on the morning of the show so that lights are hung by the beginning of load-in.” Presentor must provide and pay for 6 electricians for the 4 hours.
Note that this is for REFERENCE PURPOSES ONLY and that an accurate lighting plot will be provided in advance of the performance date.

One music stand for the conductor.
- Sufficient backstage space (approximately 1600 square feet) adjacent to opera stage for Company’s equipment consisting of 30 large instrument/equipment trunks. Four (4) eight foot tables for props; extra chairs and running lights requested backstage.
- A music stand with a light on it, is required for the stage manager DSL or DSR
- Scale Drawings, (round plans) of (1) stage, (2) backstage, (3) loading dock, (4) dressing room facilities, and (5) map of city and (6) directions to backstage doors to be attached and returned with this addendum.
- Headset communication to be provided by Presenter for:
- Stage Manager (DSL or DSR depending on stage configuration)
- Lighting Board/Houselights Operator
- Fly Rail
- Orchestra Pit
- Deck Stage Right
- Deck Stage Left
- Followspots (2)
- i. All lighting instruments and equipment to be provided by presenter.
SUPERTITLES — “La Traviata”, “Rigoletto” and “The Marriage of Figaro” will be sung in Italian with English Supertitles.
The Company will carry all necessary equipment for supertitle projections (for distances of not more than 150’). If a projection boot is not available, not acceptable, or is further than 150’ from the stage, Local Presentor must be prepared to remove sufficient seats from sale to provide a suitable location on the theater center-line no less than 8’ wide and 6’ deep for projection equipment and operators; exact location should be discussed with Production Manager. Projectors and cueing process may be distracting to audience members nearby. Local Presentor should be aware that supertitles may not be visible from ail areas of the auditorium and that presentation of supertitles may not be possible in theaters with a proscenium height less than 25’.
BACKSTAGE PERSONNEL
- Load-In should be 12 hours prior to the beginning of performance. The house will be open to the public 30 minutes prior to the opera.
- This is not a “yellow card” attraction.
- Four (4) loaders for the truck as required by applicable union standards. If loaders are engaged by Company’s representatives, Presentor agrees to pay the charges.
- The following stagehand requirements are based on the Company’s typical needs in a fully equipped theatre with a stage of the minimum size required for the Production and with a counterweight fly system and may need to be adjusted to meet local labor agreements, working conditions or technical or physical condition of your theatre.
Stagehands: (see below) to handle the Company’s equipment from loading dock to stage and back from stage to loading dock, set and strike the stage, and to work the performance as required, under the direction of the Production Manager. - Estimated personnel needs:

- Adequate house personnel (with keys) to provide access and orientation at the time of load-in and upon Company’s arrival at the hall prior to its first service.
- Backstage security from time of load-in until completion of load-out (minimum one).
THE SET

TEMPERATURE
- Hall and stage properly heated or cooled. On-stage temperature should be approximately 70 degrees Fahrenheit (not less than 68 degrees and not more than 74 degrees Fahrenheit).
One heating/air-conditioning engineer to be available from beginning of load-in to end of performance - Equipment or machines such as air conditioners or ventilating fans which can be heard on stage or in ball to be turned off during the performance and rehearsal, if any.
DRESSING ROOMS
- 1 large, clean private dressing room with lavatory facilities, near the stage, for conductor.
4 dressing rooms for the soloists and conductor.
1 dressing mom with 2 phone lines for the Company / Production Managers.
1 large dressing room for 25 chorus females and 2 wardrobe trunks.
1 large dressing room for 20 chorus males and 2 wardrobe trunks.
1 large dressing room for 25 orchestra males and 1 wardrobe trunk.
1 large dressing room for 25 orchestra females and 1 wardrobe trunk. - All dressing rooms to be furnished and with mirrors and make-up lights, costume racks, hangars and chairs sufficient for the number of female and male musicians specified above.
- All dressing rooms to be in the same building as the concert ball stage, on the same floor or with easy access to stage.
- Bathrooms in each single dressing room and in or near musicians’ dressing rooms. Bach bathroom cleaned and supplied with hot and cold running water, soap, paper towels, toilet and toilet tissue.
- Washing machine and dryer within the building.
- Easy access to drinking water.
- An additional area, which can be locked securely, with electrical outlets, lighted mirrors, and a sink, must be provided for the wardrobe, wig, and makeup personnel. Tables and/or counter space is needed in this area.
- If actual dressing, orchestra, wardrobe/makeup rooms are not available, alternate spaces will be acceptable to the extent they meet the above requirements and are approved by the Company in advance.
AUDITORIUM AVAILABILITY
Stage and auditorium available for 12 hours prior to performance. In the event of a matinee, auditorium to be available for 6 hours on the afternoon/evening prior. The Company is to be the sole occupant of the auditorium from the beginning of the load-in until the end of the load-out unless written permission is obtained from the Company.
PIANO
A rehearsal piano may be required on-stage prior to the performance
SOUND REQUIREMENTS
There must be a program sound system wit dressing room monitors available to the Company for paging announcements to the dressing rooms as well as stage sound monitoring There must also be a means of making announcements to the audience. The Company does not utilize sound reinforcement for singers and or orchestra. Any use of sound reinforcement necessitated by house size or conditions will be undertaken at the Presenter’s sole expense, and must be discussed in advance with the Company’s Music Director and Production Manager. Presenter shall reimburse any cost incurred by Company as a result of sound checks upon presentation of an accounting to Presentor.
STARTING TIME
Performance will start not later than 5 minutes past publicly announced starting time except by mutual agreement. In the event the Presentor unilaterally effects a delayed starting time, which results in overtime payment to musicians, Presentor is responsible for overtime payment.
PROGRAMS
- Presentor agrees, at its own expense, to print and distribute a sufficient quantity of house programs for the performance(s), including the program copy furnished by Company, even if the quantity of program copy requires more program pages be printed than customary for Presenter’s other concerts.
- The program copy furnished by Company for house program includes: 1) billing of Company, conductor, and soloists, 2) list of program to be performed 3) program credits and restrictions (see below), 4) program notes, 5) biographies of Company, conductor, and soloists, and 6) listing of Company personnel and Company’s executive staff.
- All brochures, advertising and programs shall state: “Programs subject to change.” Any program change shall be without penalty or fee reduction to Company.
- Presentor agrees to furnish advance proof of house programs not less than 2 weeks before concert for Company’s approval as to page format and credits.
- Presentor agrees to furnish a sufficient number of house programs for Company’s musicians prior to opera and 5 copies of printed house program for Company’s archives to be delivered to Company’s librarian backstage before start of opera. Presentor will also furnish 2 copies of all posters and other materials used in the promotion of the opera, including advertising and reviews.
PROGRAM CREDITS
Presentor agrees to provide appropriate credit to any tour sponsor(s) or underwriter(s), whether a commercial or non-commercial organization(s), such credit to appear in all advertising display materials and house program in form and substance as requested by Company.
Presentor agrees to print credit lines, as submitted by Company, on program page including, but not limited to (a) tour sponsor(s) (b) piano (c) recording companies (d) tour management.
RESTRICTIONS
- Presentor agrees that no performance is to be recorded, broadcast, televised or photographed or otherwise extended beyond the auditorium without the prior written consent of Company and will take all reasonable measures to assure that there will be no violation of this provision.
- Presentor agrees to include in printed program and on program page the statement: “The photographing or sound recording of this performance or possession of any device for such photographing or sound recording is prohibited.”
- In the event tat Company wishes to have performance recorded, broadcast, televised or otherwise extended beyond the auditorium, Presentor agrees to make the auditorium available for the installation, operation and removal of all necessary facilities. All costs relative to such installation, operation and removal shall be borne by Company and Presentor shall not receive any fee, remuneration or compensation for any such extension of concert.
- Presentor agrees that no performance will be utilized as a benefit, fundraising event, or other such function without prior written consent of the Company.
- Presentor agrees not to arrange any open rehearsal without Company’s written agreement.
- Performance Date and Curtain Time: The performance date and curtain time is specified on the front page of the contract between Presentor and Company. Company accepts no responsibility whatsoever if Presentor advertises a different performance date and/or curtain time from that which is enunciated therein.
- News Coverage: A news crew may record a maximum of five (5) minutes of the production and may broadcast a maximum of two (2) minutes. The tape may be used on a HARD NEWS program only (i.e. not a program like Entertainment Tonight). The tape may be broadcast ONE TIME ONLY. Signs must be posted backstage where cast, orchestra, and crew will see them, notifying them that news crew(s) will be on the premises taping the beginning of the show and that they will shoot no more than the allotted time of five (5) minutes. Presenter must remind in person the Company Manager about the taping upon Company Manager’s arrival at the theater. If these specific criteria are not met, resulting in union violations, Presenter will be responsible for any and all monetary penalties incurred. HOSPITALITY
An area should be set up close to the dressing rooms for the exclusive use of the Company upon arrival at the theater and should include the following:
- Deli Platter with an assortment of meats and cheeses, including vegetables and salads (egg, potato, cole slaw, etc) along with breads and rolls for making sandwiches, butter, jelly plus plastic utensils and paper plate service for entire company of 115 available two hours prior to performance
- Whole Fruit for entire company (i.e. Apples, Pears, Bananas and Oranges)
- Full Tea and coffee service (with lemon, sugar, and milk for company of 115.
A large urn or kettle to provide a constant source of hot water for making tea. - 5 cases of 24 Canned Soda (Pop) in assorted flavors – regular and diet.
Brand names appreciated, but not necessary. - One Hundred Fifteen (115) small non-carbonated bottles of spring water.
PARKING SPACE (and any necessary parking permits for the following:)
- At loading dock for Company’s tractor-trailer (approx 48 feet long) available not less than 30 minutes before pre-arranged load-in time and 30 minutes before end of performance.
- At loading dock or near stage door for crew sleeper coach for entire day.
- At back stage entrance for Company’s staff car and Company’s two 57 passenger coaches before, during and after opera and rehearsal, if any. These vehicles will arrive 3 hours prior to performance and remain until 1 hour after load-out.
INSURANCE
Presentor agrees to procure and continue in effect a comprehensive general liability insurance policy to protect against any and all claims for injury or damages to persons and property, real and personal, arising in any manner in connection with the concert, with minimum liability limits of $500,000 due to personal injury or death of I person and $1,000,000 due to personal injury or death of 2 persons in any one occurrence and of $250,000 for damages to or destruction of any property in any one occurrence. Presentor shall, at Company’s request, furnish Company with insurance certificates indicating such coverage.
TICKETS
- 10 (five pain) complimentary tickets (excellent locations) to be delivered to management representative of the Company (not to any musician) upon arrival at backstage.
- 10 tickets (excellent locations) available to be purchased by Company’s management representative until 2 hours before opera time.
IF ANY OF THE SERVICES AND/OR FACILITIES INDICATED IN TI-US AGREEMENT ARE NOT PROVIDED BY PRESENTOR AND COSTS MUST THEREFORE BE INCURRED BY COMPANY, PRESENTOR WILL REIMBURSE COMPANY FOR THESE COSTS, NOT LATER THAN DAY OF PERFORMANCE.
