Artistic Director of the Female Cossacks Song & Dance Ensemble “Lyubo”, Laureate of the All Russian Contest of Variety Performers, Head of the Department of Folk Singing (The College of Arts and The Shmelev Music School in Sochi), was born in Baltiysk, Kalliningrad region on February 6, 1964.

From her childhood up Ms. Chadaeva has given herself up to the study of music. Olga graduated from Music School and became a brilliant pianist (1978ã.), and then she got a profession of musicologist and lecturer in the Academy of Music (1985ã.). Olga approved herself an excellent singer and choirmaster during her study in the Academy of Arts (1990-1995ã.) there she was tutored by Professor, People's Artiste of Russia and Ukraine, Art director of The State Academic Kuban Cossack Chorus Victor Zakharchenko. The musical style of the Female Cossacks Song & Dance Ensemble “Lyubo” and the musical outlook of its founder were moulded by this brilliant lecturer, artiste and thinker.

The honor of Kuban Region, Female Cossacks Song & Dance Ensemble “Lyubo” was created by Olga Chadaeva within the walls of Philharmonic Hall of the City of Sochi in 1995. She also established the Department of Solo Folk Singing in Sochi Institute of Arts in 1995 and became the head of this Department. All the artists of “Lyubo” were educated there; all the children with distinguished talent for music are able to enter this department after school.

In 2001 the general public estimated creative achievements and contribution into Art of Olga Chadaeva, lecturer, choirmaster and art director of “Lyubo” ensemble, and she was given the rank of Honored Art Worker of Kuban. The Anniversary Concert program of Female Cossacks Song & Dance Ensemble “Lyubo”, took place on the stage of Sochi Winter Theater last year. It was a great success.

Olga Chadaeva works now on a new musical project with a guitarist and arranger V. Kis. As a result of this team-work a new album in ethno-fusion style with the songs of our region is going to be released.

Igor MURZANAEV

Igor Murzanaev

Igor Murzanaev was born in 1961 in Sochi. He started his musical career at the age of 6. He got higher music education in 1986 and became a lecturer, performing accordionist and boyanist. Igor is the laureate of international music contests and festivals. After graduating from music conservatory he started working as a leading performing artist of Sochi Philharmonic Hall and as an artistic director of the Ensemble of Russian Folk Instruments.

Igor Murzanaev is a bright popularizer of Russian national traditions. These traditions reflect into his creative work in music, performance and his arrangements. His brilliant virtuosic accordion performance is coupled with lyricism and with the search of new gamut of harmonic colors. He possesses the art of improvisation and has a great ear for music and an excellent sense of musical form.

Due to the high rate of popularity of Mr. Murzanaev's creative work, he appeared on the stages of the best Concert Halls of Russia, Spain, Sweden, Finland, Italy, France, Singapore and Turkey.

Olga KARATEYEVA

Principal Soloist / Choreographer

Olga Karateyeva

Olga Karateyeva was born in City of Temirtau on 6 March 1974. Since 1975 Ms. Karateyeva lives in the City of Sochi. Olga Karateyeva is the Principal Soloist of The Female Cossacks Song & Dance Ensemble “Lyubo”, which possesses the skill to conjoin motion with singing. In “Lyubo’s” repertoire there are plenty of vocal-choreographic compositions based on the materials of Cossacks songs. Olga has a brilliant ability to find such a choreographic image, which helps to represent the aesthetics of traditional folk singing. That is why the Ensemble’s success is the success of its Principal Soloist/ Choreographer – Olga Karateyeva and of her bright and genius work.

Olga graduated from high school in 1989 and entered the Academy of Music. She graduated from it in 1994 as an excellent pianist and theorist in music. Since 1994 Olga started working as a teacher at two music schools at once in the City of Sochi.

In 1994 Olga started her career of an artist in Female Cossacks Song & Dance Ensemble “Lyubo” and became the choreographer of the Ensemble in 1997. She got higher education at the Krasnodar Academy of Arts (1998-2203). Since 2000 she successfully leads children folk ensemble “Rossiyanka”. Olga is the prizewinner of international contests of choreography. Moreover, she regularly replenishes her knowledge and experience attending courses of ethnical choreography in Moscow and Krasnodar and during her expeditions to Cossack villages of Krasnodar Region, which is the best school of folk aesthetics and stylistics.

Olga Karateyeva receives much acclaim on the stage as an artiste of “Lyubo”; she also has an authority among the lecturers of the City of Sochi as the qualified specialist in the field of Folk music.

Rimma TERZYAN

Principal Soloist

Rimma Terzyan

Rimma Terzyan is the only artiste of the Ensemble, who has been working for The Female Cossacks Song & Dance Ensemble “Lyubo” since the day of its creation. She has a wonderful and expressive voice and works also as a solo singer accompanied by “Russian Souvenir”, the orchestra of Russian folk instruments of Sochi Philharmonic Hall.

Ms. Terzyan started her musical career at the age of 6, when she entered a music school in 1984 and became the student of pianoforte department.

In 1992 she was invited to work as an artiste of Female Cossacks Song & Dance Ensemble “Lyubo”.

As a member of Ensemble she was awarded the First Degree diploma in St. Petersburg at the All-Russian Contest of Variety Performers in 1996. Later she became a Laureate of the All-Russian Contest “Roza Vetrov” in the category of Solo Folk Singing.

In 1994 Ms. Terzyan entered the Department of folk singing in the Academy of Music in Sochi and graduated from it in 1998. After that Rimma entered the Kuban State University of Arts, the Department of straight culture and received a qualification of choirmaster.

Since 1995 she works for Sochi City Philharmonic Hall as an artiste and a choirmaster of Female Cossacks Song & Dance Ensemble “Lyubo”. Rimma Terzyan is also a teacher of Solo Folk Singing at a music school. Her students are prizewinners of local and international contests and scholars of Governor of Krasnodar Region.

Oxana KRIGALEVA

Oxana Krigaleva

Oxana Krigaleva possesses a unique and amazing timbre of voice, of inexpressible beauty and flexibility. Her voice is the ornament and pride of The Female Cossacks Song & Dance Ensemble “Lyubo”. The most part of “Lyubo” songs begins with her unforgettable solo.

Ms. Krigaleva was born in Sochi and spent all her life here. In 1992 she entered a music school. She has graduated from this school with excellent marks, as a brilliant pianist, in 1999. During her study at music school Oxana showed her unique vocal talent at the children's ensemble which is popular in the city and all over the country.

Oxana Krigaleva became a member of The Female Cossacks Song & Dance Ensemble “Lyubo” at the age of 13, in 1998, and in 1999 entered the academy of arts in Sochi, the department of folk songs and graduated from it in 2003. Then Oxana went into further academic study at the University of Culture and graduated from it, she qualified as a teacher.

Oxana often appears on the stage singing solo, accompanied by the orchestra of Russian national instruments «Russian Souvenir»; she also has her own solo program, which reveals the possibilities of her unique voice to the full extent.
