“RUSSIAN SEDUCTION”

Super Show in 2 Acts

2009-2010 Season

Act 1:

1. RUSSIAN BEAUTY — The choreographic motif is the intricate interweaving of dancing groups to the measured, steadily ascendant music of a majestic Russian folk song. Magnificent blue-themed costumes symbolize the charm of Russian rivers and lakes. The graceful soloist — the Russian Beauty in a stylized costume of the empress of the immense Russian countryside — is a symbol of Russia's beauty.

2. “OCHI CHERNYE” (“Dark Eyes”) — A fiery solo. A virtuoso dance embodiment of a famous Gipsy song about a heart broken by unrequited love.

3. ROUND DANCE — A stylized Russian folk dance, showing the serene, yet irresistible charm of Russian beauties.

4. BANANA ISLAND — Fabulous inhabitants of an exotic island demonstrate the wonders of dance ingenuity, set to exotic carnival beats.

5. COSSACKS — A dance miniature, build on paradoxical harmony between Russian folk music and the sexual accents in the costumes and movements of the female dancers.

6. GYPSY BAND — Romantic Gypsy couples transport viewers into their world of freedom, bravery, and reckless passions.

7. PAST AND FORGOTTEN — A soloist duet that seemingly transports the viewer into the long-gone days of luxurious Egypt, where mysterious Cleopatra and her lover are taking leave of each other, but know that their parting isn't permanent. Wild flames of love in days gone by.

8. FANS — A choreographic miniature, in two parts: a miniature elegant ball, which transforms into a supermodern dance routines of youth dance halls.

9. WATER NYMPHS — Water nymphs — innocent girls — are prospective brides who drowned themselves because of tragic love. During the night, they emerge from the water's depths and dance in a ring, hoping to find lovers again.

10. POLOVTSIAN DANCES — The famous opera of the great Russian composer A. Borodin, magnificently decorated with a choreographic miniature “Polovtsian Dances.” Beautiful Russian female slaves, captives of Khan Konchak. Astounding music, a contrast between the helpless fair Russian beauties in white tunics and the wild dances of the Polovtsians, dressed in black and gold, and impetuous dynamics in the duet between Konchak and Konchakovna merge into a breathtaking theatrical extravaganza.

Act 2:

1. MOSCOW — A choreographic miracle, a mosaic, the best qualities of performing style, amazing harmony and synchronicity, featuring the stately entrance of a storybook Russian Empress, leading her boisterously dancing retinue.

2. GO WEST! — A parody that returns us to the times of fans of global revolution, up to the space age. With stylized costumes of female space enthusiasts, headed by a heroic leader carrying a red flag and dressed in a costume bedecked with Soviet symbols. Forward! To the dawn of the future!

3. RENDEZVOUS — A passionate duet distinguished by an incredible refined style. Resplendent performers charm with their virtuoso dancing technique and acting mastery. A combination of indomitable temperaments turn a lovers' meeting into a mini-corrida.

4. ROULETTE — A variety show, casino, and roulette. Who isn't a gambler in our time? The Queen of Spades is still the most desirable among women. As if it were an orchestra, the synchronized corps de ballet accompanies the soloists.

5. HAREM — A racy burlesque large-scale number, displaying the delicate charms of harem beauties.

6. CRAZY LATINOS — Wild carnival beats, blinding costumes, a storm of an endless celebration akin to enchanting foreign wonders. One unwittingly wants to sink into the carnival world, shunning reality.

7. SONG OF THE WIND — A bewitching duet conveys the mood of radiant tragedy of tenderness that grows cold, of love that fades like an exotic flower. It seems that the hands of the dancers will meet any second, and at long last they will possess each other... but the miracle does not happen, and they slowly sink to the ground, never to rise again.

8. “OY DA NE VECHER” (“It's not evening yet") — An amazing soloist duet that astounds with the creativity of choreography, a magnificently powerful dance interpretation of the musical themes of the famous Russian folk song “Oy, da ne vecher”, a song that forever holds one captive.

9. “KALINKA.” — This world-famous song provides a spectacular finale to the concert, the embodiment of Russian daring, passion, and width and breadth of Russian celebrations, impossible without the element of games.
