RUSSIA IS PRESENTED FOR ALL TO SEE
Of all the outstanding choreographers, only he premièred his show at Palais de l'Europe. Eight years ago, in Paris, he received the Prix Volenine for the one-act ballet “Eight Russian Songs.” And now Yevgeny Panfilov returns to France to present his “Russian Seduction.” “Russian Seduction” This Saturday night, on the stage of Palais de l'Europe, this dance show lived up to its name.
All the charm, elegance and beauty of the performance were presented for viewers' pleasure on the stage of Francis Palmero theatre.
The stage action is performed by 30 or so dancers, whose highly professional skills are combined with physical beauty. The performance is composed of 20 scenes, arranged with great talent by a remarkable choreographer, Yevgeny Panfilov.
The scenes that feel most exotic are those that combine Russian traditions with modern trends and American rhythms.
The variety in the production has, at times, surprised even those viewers who have seen traditional Russian ballet many times in the past. As a result, the public loved the show, and the troupe performed to a full house.
“Gypsy Band”, “Harem”, “Round Dance”, “Rendezvous”, “Polovtsian Dances”, “Moscow”... these are but individual brush strokes in this multicolored fresco of a show. Over 400 costumes and headpieces were prepared for the 2-hour performance. Charm, brilliance, rhythm, diversity and... many other constituents of success. The Francis Palmero theatre was filled to overflowing. The producers could have easily played to a full house two or three times.

This cannot be! “Of course it can, and how!” argued the Russians. And in particular, the artists from the Yevgeny Panfilov Theatre, who have just returned from a guest tour of France, Switzerland, Nice, Cannes, Monte Carlo, Divonne, Geneva, Lausanne... This is an incomplete list of the 20 performances that the troupe gave during the 2 month guest tour of “Russian Seduction.” Everywhere houses were full, and the performances were triumphant!
In Divonne, the troupe was entrusted with the performance at the opening of a new casino named in honor of Charles Aznavour. The stage maestro was so touched by the performance that he visited the dressing rooms, requesting 2 extra performances for the December 31 and January 1 of the new millennium.
There is a future prospect of a 2 month guest tour of the Caribbean Islands. Russians are continuing to seduce the world!
